THE VAL D'ORCIA, TUSCANY LEGACY


Val d'Orcia in Tuscany - a marvelous landscape of never-ending hills, grain fields, and streams, with rich clay and tufa soils; the Valdorcia is today the real icon of Tuscany, a natural setting of extraordinary beauty. It has become known all over the world as the classic Tuscan landscape. Important films like the Oscar winners The English Patient, La Vita è Bella and The Gladiator, as well as Romeo and Juliet directed by Franco Zeffirelli, and most recently Under the Tuscan Sun, cementing the Val D’Orcia’s beauty in cinematic history.

Todd A. Williams - Tuscany Plein Air Workshop - June 9th-16th, 2012

6 days and 7 nights - Artist Fee $2950 for single occupancy and private bath

Non-painting Guest fee is: $800 *sharing room with painter includes same meals

A deposit of $600 will hold your place. Workshop will be limited to 7 students.

*Discussions and lots of individual attention

Through lecture, slide presentation and demonstrations,
“The examination of creating your own unique voice” will be explored in
squinting,design, value control, color control, edges, paint manipulation, variety/unity.
This workshop will be great for all levels.
We will learn about training our eyes to see warm vs. cool color relationships and what I call VCM (value-color-mixture).
Plus will learn about the Spirit of Painting,  sharpening our skills of observation and editing,

but at the same time learning that the final product
should also speak of ourselves as artists as much as the subject itself.
