Todd A. Williams was born in the small farming community of Central City, Nebraska. Since his childhood he has been aware of the natural beauty of the world around him, an awareness that he continues to cultivate today through the art of painting.
After studying painting and illustration at the Kansas City Art Institute, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Williams went on to be an in-house Senior Artist/Designer for Hallmark Cards and DaySpring Cards for the next ten years. Todd Williams’ success really doesn’t come as a surprise,” says Dirk Meyer, owner of Williams' work has been exhibited across the US in gallery, museum, and invitational exhibitions, such as the Gilcrease Museum, the Great Plains Art Museum, Montgomery Museum Of Fine Arts, "The American Miniatures Show", Settlers West Gallery, The Maynard Dixon Museum, Cincinnati’s Great American Artists Exhibition, and the Oil Painters of America National and Regional Exhibitions where he has been honored with the prestigious status of Signature Member. In May of 2009 he won an "AWARD OF EXCELLENCE" at the National OPA Exhibition in Santa Fe, NM., and in 2008, he won the "SECOND PLACE AWARD" from the American Impressionist Society in their National Exhibition at Palm Desert, CA. The International Artist Magazine featured his work from “Vienna and Prague” in their Dec./Jan. 2008 issue. In Sept. 2005, Todd had a featured article in the Fine Art Connoisseur. Also in 2004, he received national and international recognition for his art through a feature article in Southwest Art and International Artist Magazine selected him for "Master Painters of the World" in the United States Showcase.
Todd's influences have been many, ranging from Barbizon tonalism to Sorolla's imressionistic sea of color. The one constant in his life are his heroes: Nicolai Fechin, Joaquin Sorolla, and Anders Zorn. Todd recognizes the importance of being technically proficient in his craft and keeping in touch with others who share similar concerns. “Todd brings you into the soul of the subject,” says Jinger Richardson, Todd was indeed born with a gift. To that gift, he has added great passion and a commitment to be responsible to use the gift that God has given him. He paints not for position or notoriety, but because he knows he is an artist and has found his poetry. "Painting or creating art is nothing less than
